Tobacco companies do not want to/have to market to kids. People will continue to choose to smoke for the same reasons they always have, there will just likely be fewer people who make that choice, and subsequently less sales of tobacco, maybe by fewer companies. Exisiting big companies will over time get smaller or adapt to the changing environment. |

I am in a third world country but we have banned tabacco advertising - the only thing that they are allowed to do is on trade level. Not even event organising and direct marketing. To sustain their presence, they have opted for brand ambassador - planting cool and trendy people who does nothing but sit in clubs and all, smoking. Of course they have to ensure that the brand they smoke is prominently displayed. They also planted flashy cars decked in the brand's color for presence.
Btw, if you pay real close attention - there isn't many movies these day that have smoking innit unless very neccesary compared to the old movies. |

Although there are all the health risks out there are still more people starting smoking than quiting, not that they are adicted, more like they enjoy a smoke, like people enjoy drinking alcohol although it's very bad for you people are always going to do it.
Remember nicotine is a harmless drug it’s they way it’s taken that kills people, alcohol is a poison and will kill. |
