The problem you will run into is that the company's doing offering these kinds of deals often sell their lists to other companies. So, opting out of one will not necessarily opt you out of others.
Also, the whole point of those programs (for the company - NOT for you) is that they pass you contact info along to the sponsor companies. So, say you sign-up for a free iPod, and in doing so have to request for info from BlockBuster on their new online program. The iPod is not from BlockBuster, but an affiliate company that is administering the program. If you opt-out of the affiliate program, but not BlockBuster themselves, you may still be on the BlockBuster list.
Conversely, if you opt-out of BlockBuster, but not the affiliate company, then you'll still be on the affiliate company's list.
Two ways around this:
1. Don't sign-up for them. If SPAM bothers you, then it's not worth it. If you don't care about SPAM, then go for it and don't worry/complain about the SPAM.
2. Get an email address that you use ONLY for signing up for this kind of thing. Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, etc.

I use a new email every couple of days to avoid junk email and I don't ever sign up for any of the "Bonus Offers". I have had only one company call me and haven't seen any increase in junk mail via my mailbox. |

There is no probably about it. They will DEFINITELY send you junk mail and you will be lucky if you can get off the list, even if they have an subscribe button.
The thing to do is set up an email account (hotmail, yahoo, etc) specifically for these promotions, then all the junk mail will be sent to that account, keeping your personal account free and clear. |

Look for an "unsubscribe" button at the bottom of the emails you receive.
This should take care of it. If they don't have one then put "unsubscribe" in the subject line and reply with that.

Never! They will not only keep you on their own lists but you will be added to other lists. Your information will be sold to other companies that see you as a potential consumer. |
