Volumn has been set to the program / movie?? You know that the volumn is right for proper hearing, and suddenly a commercial come "BLARING ON", interrupting you train of thought, conversations with other family members, etc.
I BELEAVE THAT THE TIME HAS COME TO E-MAIL / PHONE THE ADVERTISORS AND INFORM THEM THAT YOU WILL NOT BUY ANYMORE OF THEIR PRODUCT BECAUSE OF THE ADVERTISMENT'S VOLUMN!!!
Am I the only one, with this attitude / problem?

GREAT !!!! I thought I might be the only one, irritated enough to e-mail, call, and refuse to buy the advertised products of those companies and complain, but alas, THOSE COMPANIES APPARANTLY TAKE THEIR CUE'S FROM OUR POLITICIANS ::

They have been doing it since the 60's.
I find their idea that jacking the volume to get my attention is insulting to my intelligence.
If we were to extend their logic than why not have salespeople yell at me when they sell me something? Wouldn't that make everyone look like idiots. |

they know we channel surfing during commericals so they
are trying to get your attention. It is bad enough that they
are louder but I actually watch less tv know because
every 5 minutes they have 5 minutes of commercials
anymore !!!!! |

There is one simple reason why the commercials are so much louder. Think about it. What do you do during a commercial? Go the refrigerator, the bathroom, maybe get some clothes out of the dryer, step outside for 2 minutes, check your email or [fill in the blank]
While you are not in front of the TV, the advertisers still want your attention and they are paying higher prices to get it.
So no matter where you go, there they are. |

It is VERY Irritating! And as someone who used to work at a radio station, we had to make sure this didn't happen in radio commercials or programming, it all had to be the same level, so I am suprised that the television stations do it.
The OXICLEAN and ORANGEGLO screamer guy just bugs the crap out of me! I think the products look good, but will never buy them because of the ads. |

No, I hate it too. A lot of it has to do with TiVo and DVR usage. The advertisers are hoping to get our attention for the short amount of time that they have. |

it's a total intrusion in your living room! I automatically turn the volume down as soon as there's a break to ignore the ads... sometimes miss the start of the next part tho, if am in the kitchen making a cuppa and the ads have finished ;) |
