There's really nothing better than Adsense, especially for a low traffic site

Take a look at banner ad networks. If you get a CPM where you are paid for thousand impressions, most banner ad networks don't pay much CPM. If they pay you $2 per CPM and your site can only get 5,000 pageviews - then you only earn $10. But if you use a banner ad network, you still have a 50-50 sharing (or 60-40). So your net earnings is just $6 or $5.
