I am considering starting an Ebay events ticket sale business. Has anyone here actually made a living or close to a living selling items or tickets on Ebay? Additional Details I am particularly interested in selling event tickets. The reason I mention this product is because of a previous experience I had selling concert tickets I purchased but was unable to attend the event.
The seats to the event were good (center stage, just off the floor) and I was able to sell the tickets for twice the cost. Pretty impressive profit margin.
I have checked into the legalities of "scalping" tickets online and as of now there don't seem to be any regulations.
The wife and I do a pretty good side business on ebay selling stuff we pick up at garage sales. We make a couple hundred a week just messing around. The fees are getting a little out of hand, though.
If someone doesn't pay, you can file a claim with ebay and the fees will be refunded so you can re-list the item.

You know what.... I'm an ebayer buyer and seller and I would like to know too....good question. A lot of the people I communicate state how they do the ebay thing and can now stay home .... (selling clothing....new and used) and I'm thinking....they must be wives of working husbands! LOL Or I wonder if alot of people do this on the side. There is alot of literature about getting started, I even think seminars and that sort of thing too. I've come across that in communication with others on Ebay. Best of luck to you. I am doing quite well right now selling uniquely designed handmade items on Ebay. I average about 6 purchases per day at $22/per item. So I'm making around $900/wk. Not bad for a stay-at-home mom with some sewing skills!

Many people that I've talked to, that have actually started a business on e-bay, have mixed results. The best is those that sell periodically as opposed to those that sell on a full time basis. The complaints that I've heard is that if someone bids on an item and then they renege, the seller still must pay e-bay, even though they have to re-post the same item. So after a while their profit margin starts to wither away.

I know lots of people who do nothing but sell Ebay items all day and do nothing else. You might make some good money at it, but you will never know until you try.

i dont think you could make a living on line but if you were selling tickets i definetly think you could!!!!!!!! When im going to a concert of something and i try to get a ticket and they are sold out EBAY is the first place i go and usually find the tickets i want and im usually willing to pay any amount i think this would be a pretty good business.
