It's worth paying to be listed on Yahoo, but if your site is well optimised you will get there eventually anyway.
Google Adwords can be very profitable if done right. Check out Perry Marshall's site for free tips on doing it right.
If you start getting good results from Adwords there are plenty other PPC search engines that are worth trying too. Generally you get much less traffic than from Google but at a much lower price. |

getting on the search engines is about search engine optimisation - not paying. You will get better ranks if the site is organic - that is it is positioned where it is because of natural reasons.
The keys are:
* great content
* great content
* links from other RELEVANT sites
did I say great content?
Ad-sense can help especially if your site is very new, but ultimately you need the site and your visitors to sell itself.
Copy is everything, avoid or minimise - Shock-wave, frames and too many ads and poor links to other sites. |
