I think it was in 1998 that the tobacco companies signed The Master Tobacco Agreement with the states which outlines very strict guidelines for advertisement by the tobacco companies. Here's a link to the Phillip Morris website that talks about it....................

why do Cigarettes need to be advertised?
It's the main product in our life; everyone know and use it.
Everyday, in everywhere, many people smoke some kind of cigarettes and we look. These pictures are the best of the type of advertising and being effected more than advertising on TV.
In Asia, we can see many banners, posters, streamer, etc...on the small trans, the vehicle which used to sell fast-food, dinking, etc... in the street. |
