I joined several survey sites and stayed for over a year. I got very few surveys and those that I did, did not get paid "cash" but earned points that could be cashed in for items. You needed many many points before you could cash them in for something worthwhile. I had 200 points in at one site and there was nothing of any value to cash them in for.
The surveys are usually very targetted... they are looking for a specific group or type of person to survey. Because of my location I was not a good survey candidate. I found they were more often geared to large urban areas. That meant that sometimes I went through whole survey which may have taken up to 20 min. to complete and then was politely told that I did not meet all their requirements for this survey but was given a "token" (5) number of points to account for my time.
Is that a scam? Well, they didn't ask me for money and run away with it. Is it a waste of a person's precious time? I would answer a definite YES to the second and be thankful that I didn't lose any money.
I thought that maybe I could earn "up to $75 per survey" as some of the ads said so signed up because I was not going lose any money by joining a free program. There is value in free in some things but not this one in my experience. |

Some are a scam. If they make you pay to join then yes it is a scam. There are some free legit ones out there that do pay. I made a yahoo page with the ones I use. I have another that I didn't list on there because I can't figure out how to edit my page. The name is Baker St. Solutions. Don't have link offhand. They pay by Amazon Gift Certs. I usually get around 2 surveys per month from them. But check out the yahoo page and good luck!

well i take surveys online. check out my site http://cashtutor.blogspot.com I review all the sites that have paid me and even posted the checks online. They're all free and easy. You won't get rich but they definitely help with bills or something. :) |

The website I use lists all the FREE paying legitimate survey sites, and categorises them by payment type, paypal, check etc.

Dont pay any sites to get lists or let survey companies charge to your card - those are usually scams in themselves - and dont pay a survey company anything - the whole point is for them to pay you..
There are plenty FREE survey sites out there - check out the site that lists all the LEGITIMATE sites - and the site is also FREE!!

There are a few good companies out there. They don't pay really well, but if you sign up for all of them and you have a lot of free time on the computer you can actually make some money.
You should stick to legitimate research companies, anything else is just a scam.

If you go to a reputable free directory like http://www.whichsurveys.com you'll find details of survey sites that cover your country with details of the age limits for each site. Some like Choozz specialise in youth surveys whilst other accept anyone over 14 or 16 rather than the usual 18. |
