This is a Harris Poll Online Rewards Site that I've been a member of for a couple of years. Its free to sign up and participate, but you don't get rewarded with cash, but with "prizes" (movies/cds of your choice, magazine subscriptions, household items, etc...) It takes a while to earn some of the bigger rewards because they email you when they have an avaliable survey, but in the end you do end up with some free stuff. And you don't even have to pay shipping costs on your items!

Honestly, it depends what your definition of "a good amount of money" is. There are a few free, reputable sites that pay between $2 and $10 per survey that you qualify for. The most I've made is about $200 in a month, and that required a pretty good amount of time.
With that said, I enjoy taking surveys, and as a stay at home dad, the extra few bucks helps out. I have reviewed and listed the free sites I've had the best luck with on my blog if you're interested:

Yes. I've found two very good paid survey sites. Both completely legit and have already been paid over $100 from both sites in 2 months. The sites are treasuretrooper.com and http://www.swatcash.com/joinow.
Good luck :]

No. The survery websites are scams which target the gulliable who want to believe making real money doesn't require any talent or hard work.
