To make my presentations interesting, I often use pictures instead of words on some slides to exemplify the things I'm discussing. Like if a client has serious issues with their account, and we had to troubleshoot significantly, and they are really upset at us, I would just put up a picture of a nuclear bomb.
Or if I had a marketing initiative I did that had no responses, I would put up a picture of a desert.
That seems to work and is quite memorable. People get really lost in words, so those kind of pictures and any other graphics and/or occasional animation helps tremendously in keeping people awake.
Also-- create slides that poll the participants, to keep them engaged.

Do research work on your subject, prepare well. be confident what ever you speak.
dress properly it impress audience.
happy suzy
be different but do your research on what you are presenting
add a question session too
for example for my group presentation i did a Chinese astrology fen shui session and good luck placement in the home and office
than did a question time everyone was fascinated with what their sign meant and their sign Symbol was etc
your presentation needs to be different than the norm to get interest

Be thorough with your presentation, dress well blah blah- All that for a good presentation.
Now, for the WOW factor - Crack some jokes. Make your presentation lively and don't let the audience doze off. For example: Say that "US is towards the eastern side of the world map", that will wake up the people who are sleeping and enbale active participation, ask questions.
