But then, I work for an off-shore software company (in the off-shore part), and we don't have any contact with clients or something, so everybody dresses comfortably for eight to sixteen hours of sitting down, and according to personal preferences. I can see the situation (the photocopier repair man needs to leave good impression, so people will call on the company again...) |

It means you guys need to start sprucing up, and fast. Unless you never see your clients or vendors or bankers then you need to look professional in your daily work. I'm not talking three-piece suits and ties, but business casual at the very least.
While clients may not actually object to your company dressing like the local fraternity, they are actually making unconscious decisions on your professionalism. So while you may be doing a steady business on project-level jobs, you may be missing out on the higher-margin projects for no better reason than you're dressed like a bunch of kids. |
