Bag packers at supermarkets, has any one seen one ?
Every other country I have visited or lived in has a person packing the bags after purchase. Not so in the UK, we all wait in a patient queue as you personally collect the items, struggle with the bags, and put hard things at the bottom and soft things at the top. Oh, I agree that we are lucky in the scheme of things to have supermarkets, but I am amazed that we have to hold everyone up, as there is not a bag packer.
What do you reckon ? Am I being too fussy ?

Bob.

We have bag packers at our local supermarkets, but not all the time.

tip.put the heavy stuff on the front of the belt and the delicate stuff last....lol

Wouldn't it be a good idea to make unemployed teenagers work in supermarkets and on stations helping with shopping, bags etc. now THAT would be really useful

what I really want is someone to push my trolly back to the car lol

You are citizen of EU - why would you live better than we poor Germans ? Beside the way Wal Mart tried here, but they surrendered and sold their German company to REWE. We here won't have bag packers - this guys are aqll payed by the tax authorities.

You should start a company that does that. recruit employees and lease them to the grocery stores.

I have seen them at Tescos. If it isn't too busy they usually do it for me! oh and Iceland on the rare occasion I pop in there.

Tesco do say that if you require help with packing you should ask your cashier and they will get a packer for you. I have to say though this is not always the case. However I have found that every Morrison's supermarket I have been to every cashier has asked if I would like help packing. All checkouts also have the bags open and ready to fill, this is done by the cashier. Try shopping here. They have a good range of products too and their fresh counters are second to none (The fish counters are simply Davine).
