I really don't feel like spending money on expensive (or inexpensive) ads, so what is the best way to go about it? I've put up flyers in hotspots around the neighborhood and set up a large sign next to a busy road, but I haven't gotten any calls/E-mails yet and the sale is one week from tomorrow. On the ads, I made sure to include a name, dates/times, address, phone number and what I'm selling. Although it may not seem to be working, for all I know, there could be 100 people eagerly anticipating my sale.

What makes a good sign/ad? What about font, color and content?

BTW, I'm saving up to buy pet rats. I have plenty for the initial expensive, but I need about $70 more for a decent wire cage, though I prefer a spacious 20 gallon aquarium as they are much cheaper.
