Depending on where you live, consult with an ad agency. They will have the demographics, market, reach, and penetration numbers for national buys. They make their commission off the space purchase, so they shouldn't have to charge anything additional.
In other words, you would pay the same if you wnet straight to the station or network.

You have a few options:
1. Seek Advertising Agencies
2. Seek media agency
3. Go straight to stations
I would recommend going to advertising agencies because they are more strategic and can advise you based on your creative. They will work together with a media agency that will come back to you on a media plan. It will outline your reach based on your brief and advise the best stations/timeslot in order to reach them.
