As long as the stuff you sell is clean (not broken of course) and set out well so people can look at it you cant go wrong!.Don't put prices on stuff just tell people who appear interested what price you want and be prepared to haggle with them,it can be fun .Always have a laugh with and smile at your customers. |

Don't price your DVD's and CD's to cheap, some people are always looking for particular one and will pay more than you think for it.
Make you table look as full as possible.
Be really friendly to people.

The best stuff for you 2 sell is ne thing u don't want or have a use for.
When ppl show an interest, talk 2 them, ask what they're prepared 2 pay and tell them u wanted half as much again (as long as the price is sensible). You'll sell well doing this, it works |

When people ask for a price for the first hour keep it a little above what you want so they can haggle you down. ie say £1.50 when you want a quid for something. After an hour bring everything down in price to what you were originally asking for and accept a little less.
If you've got loads of stuff to get rid of have a cheap table like all 50p or all 20p, with big signs to draw people in and let them browse, it also gives the impression you just want to get rid of stuff.
Don't use sticky labels for prices because it looks tacky, post-it notes stuck on the tables or boxes with prices are ok and can be changed easily.
If your selling clothes a clothes rail is useful as people dont like browsing through bags or off a rug.
Video cassettes don't sell very well anymore, the most you could be looking for is 50p each. If you're selling anything electronic have some batteries handy so you can show people it works. |
