- you will explain why you chose the strategies for reaching your target customers,
- identify target customers clearly to better finetune your advertising and promotion strategies,
- write your positioning statements

For small businesses, a business plan and a marketing plan usually have completely different goals. Business plans, while good for any business, usually are created to receive outside funding from investors. Marketing plans, on the other hand, are usually created when launching a new product. Business plans will usually have a summary of the information contained in the marketing plan, but not all the details on implementing the marketing plan. |

things like cashflow projection, objectives, key performance indicators, goals, human resources (that's too long to mention all. It depends on what type of business you are talking about and who is preparing it). I suggest you google on business plan and find some samples.
