Buying traffic is not a really good idea. Most of these sites also advertise Pay-per-click programs and the only people "seeing" your web site would be people who are just clicking through for money as fast as they're able. They are really not looking at your web site. Try Search engine optimization. Also, if your web site is local you can advertise in your local newspaper.
You can get traffic by trying a free traffic exchange service like TrafficSwarm at http://www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?56268...
or WebCentreSurf at http://webcentresurf.com/?27972
Try StumbleUpon at http://www.stumbleupon.com and add your site to your favorites.
You can try article marketing at an article submission service like http://www.ezinearticles.com and link back to your website in the resource box for your articles.
You can also comment on popular blogs like John Chow's or Joel Comm's that allow linkbacks to your URL. Do a Yahoo Search.
Create a video and upload it to YouTube with your URL flashed on the screen. |

Buying traffic is not a good idea.
It's not targeted enough and most will be those people who manually click on your link to earn a percentage of a cent.
I don't know if you have ever tried something like that, but it is a total waste of time. Stay clear of buying traffic, imho.
For targeted traffic, try article marketing. If you can't write your own articles, get someone to write them for you.
Join related forums. Use social bookmarking. Make a video and upload to the many video sites.
These are free.
If you want to spend money, try PPC.
There are loads of other ways.

I can't think of any good reason to "Buy" traffic to a site. Unless you're talking about PPC then you could do it for a period of time just to get started.
Good SEO always wins out for getting you the best targeted traffic. |

Plain and simple I have never bought traffic except for ppc like adwords. I believe most of the bought traffic is quite useless anyways. I do a lot of other things to drive traffic to my affiliate marketing site. Exchanges, articles, backlinks, blogging and so forth. It's totally depending on you. If you need fast traffic then you have to buy traffic. Or else long process with free traffic you can get good results with the free tactics. But it's long term process. you have to wait more time for the traffic and popular for your website.
