I'm a distributor of products and I'd like to improve my sales pitch and techinque.
Which books have you read or know about that you believe are excellent for helping salesmen become better?
I've read some really good books on marketing recently (they're not specifically about selling, but they're really helpful and entertaining).

If you are talking about your sales pitch online which would be the written word, there are a couple of good ones that I know of. The first is called Netwriting Masters Course and it is free. You can download it at http://netwriting.sitesell.com/Angie5.html
The second one is called Make Your Words Sell. It is available at http://myws.sitesell.com/Angie5.html but it will cost you around $30 I believe.
They are both really good reads and are very helpful.
All the best.

HI, This is a set of 6 cassettes by Jason Jennings & Laurence Haughton. They are entitled It's Not The Big that Eat the Small, it's the Fast that Eat the Slow. Very informative for anyone in sales.

Dale Carngie: "The 5 Great Rules of Selling"
The cornerstone of sales training books. As useful today as it was when it was written. Although some of the references are dated the concepts are timeless.
As an extra bonus, some of the concepts are also good for picking up women!

343 Remember
Tough Calls, I cannot remember the author, but it is sitting on my desk.
Good To Great is another one
I think role playing is a great way to learn.. you get to use actual scenarios and you can focus on the pitfalls you encounter.
I always 'sell' the way I 'buy'. Never pushy, informative and honestly. Sometimes the best pitches are simple conversation. If you believe your product is right for their business and you know how to showcase your products.. just get more comfortable in how you present it. But use your own words...
Try writing down your typical responses.. are they clear? Do they actually address the question? Could you improve them?
I wish you well.. my apologies that I could not give you the authors.
