Can someone look at my site?

Hi, I have a website that sells locks and keys. I am new at this and want some feedback on how the site looks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It is called: MAXLOCKLOCKS.COM

It looks okay, the layout is pretty good. There are a few problems, though. I would recommend that you try not to use text that's too big (the index text is a bit too big for my tastes, and perhaps more importantly the title text and the body text are also too similar in size), and generally your site will look more professional if you put in nice gradient images rather than plain blocks of color all over the place although that would take extra work so it's up to you. Also, I notice that you are using JPGs with fairly lossy compression; I would advise that you either lower the compression level or use something like PNGs instead, because right now they look a little unprofessional. Images like the ones for the doorknobs on the index page should be done on white to match the background, as having the gray image on your white page background also looks unprofessional. The Christmas ticker should be disabled until it's, maybe, two months until Christmas or thereabouts (this should be very easy to do with Javascript), unless there's a good reason for it, for example if for technical reasons it takes you a long time to fill an order. The returns policy page has nothing on it, which should definitely be fixed. Using Firefox on 1024X768, the 'about us' page text goes too close to the right-hand edge of the screen; you might want to add some padding there to make it look better. And finally, as a matter of personal preference I like websites with a light-on-dark color scheme (as evidenced by the design of my own personal site), but I understand that for businesses you might want to use this color scheme instead. However, given that you are using a dark-on-light color scheme, I've heard that it looks better if instead of using a pure white background, you lower it to a light shade of gray; apparently that's much easier on people's eyes.

i think it looks good! everything loaded properly for me, maybe change the font color or something in the beginning.

The color scheme is bland. Perhaps a background design or picture would make it more interesting and pleasing to the eye. Dont go too far and make it obnoxious, just enough to make it look cool.

Icons could also help pop out the different styles of keys. for sports leagues, you could put a small iconic symbol of that league, like a hockey stick for hockey or mickey mouse for disney.

it is a simple and easy to navigate website that is a terrific change of pace from a lot of websites, and the utter lack of pop ups and advertisments is a breath of fresh air.

I think it is really good. I can't think of how to improve it as i am not in that industry.. but i know when i have gone to sites to buy things sometimes it is hard to navigate around and then would then go to another site.. simple is best... and does your site and a questions and answers about your products? if not maybe that would help*

It looks ok, but quite amateurish. The colours need to be changed to something more aesthetic.

The catalogue also needs to be changed - this in particular looks quite amateurish. It is possible to cut down the size of the font in the catalogue area?

I know you didn't ask about this, but for search engine optimization purposes, would it be possible to change your title from all capital letters to normal lettering? A few things need to be changed in this particular area.
