Don't actually put them in the mailbox, because it is illegal. What I have done in the past is if it is nice to put it between their box and flag. If the weather is not great, put it in the newspaper box. Make it a bright color so they will be sure to see it. |

No, only in paper (like "journal") boxes. PO can fine you for putting them in and charge postage for mailboxes. Also, investing in door hangers is good. I know, it's a pain. Advertising in local papers and small yellow page directories (locally) worked well for me. Good luck with your biz! |

Honey, this IS illegal in some places.
You need to call your township and ask them. |

YES! I spent 42 years in advertising, and this is against postal regulations. Anything that goes "inside" the mail box must contain postage. However, you can hang things on the mail box.. Get some type of plastic baggie and put you ad material in the bag and hang it on the box. |

NEVER IN A MAILBOX! not matter where it is located on the property. This is federal property. Only legal papers may be placed there without postage. If you place porper postage on the item - it can be put there. |

You are absolutely breaking the law by putting unstamped mail into a mailbox. The Post Office monopoly prevents that from changing. You might notice that some places have an additional area for shopper papers or other local publications. You can get by with using those, but stay away from the Post Office and their stranglehold on personal mailboxes. |

Check the city ordinance for your area. |

Yes it should be as long as you don't put them through. One of my businesses actually does that on a very large scale (direct advertising), and where we conduct it all we have to check for is the no junk-mail signs people display.
It entirely depends on what country you are from though. |

I don't think you can put them in the mailbox for legal reasons, but we always get them by our front door or in the newspaper slot by our mailbox. |
