Cheap way to get visitors to your website?

What I've done so far:

Put it on my business cards.
Put it on my invoices.
Paying for Google AdWords (only five clicks in a month).
Handed out informational fliers (40 hits out of about 400 fliers).

I need more. If people find my website, they'll see how much I know and are more likely to buy my service.

Any ideas? I need a cheap solution. I'm thinking about trying to barter my service for advertisement somewhere in my town as an option. It could save me a ton of money, but may not get me many visits or phone calls.

Getting traffic is a combination of a lot of things. The key to success is to create great content that visitors want to use, search engines will love and other websites will naturally link to. Of course, it's easier said than done.

1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement - if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.

2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important -- and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. 3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.

4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. 5. Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

6. Post a link to your site for free where it is allowed (always read the Terms of Use). Examples are:

There are lot of ways but I believe you know them all and what you are doing now creating interest about your website, just keep doing it and it may work. Cheers.

Ask local stores like coffee shops if you can have some on the tables or at the check-out, or, like, some places have bulletin boards where you can put business cards up?
And, do you know anyone else who has a website? You could partner with them like affiliates, and have each other's links on you pages.

Create a video and upload it to YouTube with your URL flashed on the screen. All of these are free.

make a myspace just for the business people will visit your profile. then just put a link in there and say "come visit me here" or "for more information visit me mere" also.you can talk about your website on youtube that might help. then just put a link in your description. just make sure to add humor to your videos and stuff people can relate too.

If you want to use google adwords to get your site advertised, you would have to max bid for $0.50 and budget $4.00 per day just to get any good flow of trafic. ($120.00 per month)

There are other individual places to advertise, but this is the cheapest that I can find.
