actually chocolate is an aphrodisiac and if you eat it correctly it can bring on orgasmic sensations. It was illegal during the turn of the century. And only administered by a chocolatier who in liquid form would drizzle a few drops to the back of the throat for that such affect.
Look into the history of chocolate you will be amazed.
But I have turned a deaf ear to most of the commercials on tv today. Its is so bad that there are many products out there that I probably would love to try, but I can't believe the hype of the commercial.
Most ads are never true and they come off with such farce and negativity and extraordinary story line that I just fluff them off.
try watching dvds. |

I got Tivo just so I won't have to watch. I've been writing ads for 40 plus years, and I don't know who is doing it now -- they are so stupid, so off target. I won't buy anything they advertise in a movie theater. So many ads give you no reason to buy the product. Either that or I am not their target demographic. |

Hate, hate commercials! Almost all seem manipulative to me. Most have the opposite effect on me; they just make me angry that the people who came up with them think they can affect our decisions to buy. My absolute least favorite is the penis enlargement pill commercials. I would be willing to pay a fee to get rid of commercials altogether. |

Not really, maybe on the rare occasion ill see something as an option for something I was going to buy, then I research it. That's about it.
I really love Bud commercials, even though I don't like Bud. They crack me up. |

Your question contradicts itself. The fact that you remember the Dove chocolate commercial already shows that the Dove ad works. Now in your case this may cause you to not buy Dove chocolate because you hate their commercial so much, however the company could care less if one or two people choose to stay away from their product due to advertising as long as millions of others remember the name Dove and the next time they are in the market they pick it up because they remember hearing about Dove chocolate somewhere. Regardless of who you are, commercials do impact your buying habits indirectly rather you like it or not. |

I hardly every watch tv. The commericals that influenced me are always the fast food ones. Id be sitting there watching tv and a Dominos commerical would come on then like 5 minutes later Id be on the phone ordering a dmonios pizza. |

They don't really have any effect on me either. It makes you wonder why they go to such extremes to make the commercials so stupid. Sometimes they have the opposite effect and I decide that I would never buy that product if it's that stupid. |

Everyone is moved by pop culture advertising campaigns in one way or another. Many of them can be completely obnoxious and turn you off while still being effective. You often hear it said that no publicity is bad publicity, and this is quite often true. While you may think that you don't make buying decisions based on the commercial that you see or hear, often having these campaigns running in the background can leave a lasting footprint in your mind the next time you for looking for a certain type of good or service, and in your desire to purchase a product with credibility, you will often go with the one that you have heard the name of more times.
Ultimately, commercials create brand awareness that a product or service exists, and while you can't possibly be the target demographic for each campaign, if they make any type of impression on you, they have succeeded. I haven't seen the commercial, but I sure do like Dove chocolate... mmm...
I don't watch a lot of commercials, I love my TIVO, and find most commercials to be forgettable, unless of course they are for something that I may have been thinking I might need...what, a toothpaste with greater whitening action that will also double as a mouthwash??? |

Each and every one of you is EMPLOYED because of marketing.
So, as they say, don't talk with your mouth full. |

Personally I try to let some commercials take effect on me. I just moved here from Philadelphia, PA. I would have never known about Jack in the Box fast food down here in Texas if I didnt allow myself to endulge in their commercials and advertising. Furthermore, Sonic has bananna splits. Thats been my favorite for years and I have not had one in years. Guess what? They advertised it and I will go there to get one. Have you ever seen the movie "Dish Dogs". Your question reminds me of the guy that thinks about sh@t too much. Most commercials blow, but what if you had your own business, would you advertise differently. Sorry to answer a question w/ a question but I try to spend as least time in front of a Televison as possible. Everyone knows its just entertainment.
PS
so is this |
