Another way to look at it: your credit limit is $1000. You pay an extra $1000 onto the card, making the balance positive by $1000. If you make any purchases it's benefiting your points. Just be sure to keep it positive.

I have never collected on them and stopped using them all together. They will have to do better at luring my dollars away from me. What I do find is that in using this card you are giving permission to whom ever (air miles is) to follow your shopping choices. That should be no big deal but it bothers me, what tea I buy is my business. My daughter has gone to a few movies with the miles collected still not enough for me to come back. Just my opinion in a sea of opinions.

I regularly collect air miles points here in Canada. I have gotten many things from my points - hand vacs, telephones, a blender, toys, etc. You can also get gift certificates with your points as well.
