I have a small clothing line thats starting to really kick off where I live...I want to make a website and start selling nationwide...I dont know what kind of protection I would need for my logo and name...Can anyone help me and maybe give me a cost?

do a search on "How to get a copyright" and you'll get alot of url's to search thru. Here's one that does copyright and trademarks: http://www.directlegal.com/
They all cost money (most less then 100.00). Hope this helps.

If you sell within US, then the answer is yes. You need to do legal matter of your products. US respects law and orders therefore you don't have to worry your products being pirated or hijacked.

But if you sell worldwide through internet, It is not recommended because some countries such as China, Thailand, and most Asian countries, they don't care about copyright law and any legal matter you name it.

They just buy one item from you and within 2-3 days they mass produce it without your consent and sell it far cheaper. What can you do? Call a cops?

In order to beat those pirates, just be inovative and keep creating new products that are hard to be copied.

Or, you can work with those pirates and ask them to sell it for you. They will steal of course but already calculated within acceptable tolerance. See NIKE products. Learn from them.
