They have copy writers who can write copy in various languages.
For the amount the advertising company charges the client you can't have some lowly translator messing up the golden words.
This is one of the reason why a global agency as offices all over the world to a greater extent companies in other businesses might.
You need writers and producers and such who understand local culture. |

Typically they send their ad copy out to translation agencies who are familiar with the type of product and service they're selling who will use messages and grammar that is culturally appropriate to the audience they are targeting. Very little is done in-house. |

Advertising companies which are internationally based needs translators. It really depends on the target market.
I know a lot of avertising companies who needs Spanish, Chinese, Italian, French, Japanese and Fillipino translators. Other foreign advertising companies need English translators too! |

You would have to ask them, but I can tell you something, maybe they don't need it as such, but what makes you think that your translation skill would be useful? or what else can you do that can be complemented by your translation skills?, my point is, that you should not wait until someone Else tells you if you are useful or not, try seeing what you could do with your skills. For example, maybe you could specialize in Italian markets, or in some cases agencies may have Italian clients, and they might want to have an expert to translate, or to give advise on how to treat them, or maybe translating foreign advertising in a professional market oriented way so you can use it in USA without paying production costs again... or think about it you could do it the other way around, why not try to translate American advertising to Italian for later use in Italy, of course you must be up to date with the latest slang and verbal fashion, but now that I think of it, I do think you have a chance, you only have to think of ways in which your knowledge can be useful to other people.
