You don't have to pay but you do have to answer a bunch of useless questions that will send spam directly to your email and then after that, they want you to purchase something like a magazine, AOL, Columbia videos and then you will get it free. Not worth it unless you like spam and want to join one of these anyways. |

Sometimes they will sign you up for more harmless advertising, but other times they can send you a virus, or capture your personal information without your knowledge or consent...
The problem is that we never know which pop-ups are legit.
Same way with Spam.
Be careful....there is usually SOME kind of cost, because the people doing it don't do it for free. |

They give you something, but not anything that you would want. It's called spyware and it will not help you in any way.

get a pop-up blocker. yahoo has a very good one. you also should have a good firewall in place. check out this site and tips you will learn so much and its all free.

It's free from the people who advertise, but you pay shipping and handling. You usually have to sign up for all different kinds of memberships, such as movies, music, or magazine clubs. With these memberships they hold you in contract. So in actuality, you never get anything for free. |
