I block ads with Ad Muncher, but I even when I used to see them, I almost never clicked on them. The very few times (like 2-3 times a YEAR) that I clicked, I never, ever purchased anything from them.
Most of the times that I clicked were mistakes, like my mouse would be in an area of the screen and the ad kind of swooped out to where it was or changed places, so when I tried to click it to close it, it would take me to the page it linked to.
For me, the best banner ads are the ones that stay in their area of th page, don't have moving or flashing pieces and tell exactly what the ad is for. If I'm interested, I'll click. If it's teasing me to get me to click out of curiosity, I won't. And of course, too many ads got too much into my face, so now I block them all. |
