Post them back to them! Only collect a good 6 months worth then post them thru their doors for them to trip over when they next open the door! |

I started to send back junk mail to the addresses that sent it, you know when they include a stamped addressed envelope, put all the junk in it and post it back to them,,,,,,, they must be mad when they open it.. |

we should have a weatherproof bin outside our homes for junk mail only(which is emptied by the re-cycling wagon every fortnight)then we can decide which mail we choose to take into our homes.any company who puts their junk mail through our letter boxes would then be banned from ever delivering to that address again. |

You should put a sign on your door. I keep meaning to do that but never get round to it.
We get loads of take away menus here. I hope they're not trying to tell me something! |

I know it's terribly annoying.
For some people, they might think it's their lucky day to find a McDonalds coupon or some fast food restraunt taking off 10 cents but really, can't those companies have 'subscribers' and send it to only the people who care?
I'm not sure what I could do, and the local restraunt may not be the people who send it to us, but either ask the company to stop, or (the easier method), ask the mailman to just not give ads and junk like that. |

First and foremost, contact the businesses in question and politely ask them to stop leaving leaflets. In most cases if you simply ask them not to leave "unsolicited" materials in front of your establishment then generally they'll comply. Remember a closed mouth doesn't get fed. If not you might want to contact an attorney and have him/her send them a "cease and desist" letter threatening legal action of some kind but more than likely the first option should work. GL |

I'm fortunate enough that I have 2 security gates to get through before you can post anything through me letterbox, this seems to put a lot of of the leafleters off. But my sister is literally drowning under the weight of these leaflets. her recycling box can't take them all and her own household waste. The council, which is quick enough to bring in all kind of money making bye laws should tackle this problem. I know that these business have to make a living but some establishments are leafleting on a regular basis and often drop 2 at a time. Maybe the council should give householders a separate container for leaflets then charge the establishments direct, and according to total amount of waste. |

No, but I think you are right. The shop named in the leaflet should be made to pay a premium on their business rates for disposing of their rubbish in your bin.
You may sue them for this nuisance. |

they have a right to creating awareness for their product,
it seem that is a means they have decided to approach.
great if it works for them. |
