Does anybody have any suggestions on how to market a website? How to get more traffic to a site?

I just started a new website I was wondering if anybody has a suggestion on how to market it and how to get more traffic. I dont have much money so something free or cheap!! Thank you so much.

There are many ways to market a website and driving traffic to your site. Below are some free solutions:

1) Write articles on whatever your website is offering. If you have a dating website, write about dating and submit your articles to free ezine sites like ezinearticles.com or goarticles.com. This will get you listed on the search engines faster and drive some traffic to your site.

2) Have a Blog on your website. Blogging help drive traffic to your website too, just make sure that you blog often. Put a sitemap and rss feed on your site. Search engines love blogs as they are alway filled with updated contents.

3) Join forums that are related to your website and be active with your postings. Put your website address link as your signature which will drive traffic too.

4) Free listings

5) Create a video and upload it onto googlevideo and youtube.

6) Reciprocal links with other websites. eg. linkmetro

7) Make a sitemap and submit to google and yahoo
