Yes, people do buy from telemarketers. Or they wouldn't exist. Phone service comes to mind. 'We will cost you less'! But most telemarketing today just gets the salesman's foot in the door by offering something for free. It's fine if you can afford it, but anything they have to offer can usually be had cheaper by just going out there and getting it yourself.

Yes, they do. I used to be one of them (sorry). I would set up appointments for the dreaded vacuum salesman to come by. But personally, I've never bought from them.
