I'd personally look for a shopping cart which can be transferred on any other hosting (if necessary) or a dedicated server. This would allow you to keep your store files and data and pay for a license only once. For example, check for X-Cart (http://x-cart.com) which has several recommended hostings and also provides its own hosting solution. |

I went to uniksolutions.com. The are redesigning their site, but they just did my site - daldridgeandassociates.com, so I know that they are good. Hosting was included. If you type in Unik Solutions in yahoo or google, they should come up. Price was reasonable for mine. I don't know if it matters if you are in the UK, you just need a credit card that can work with US dollars. |

One thing to consider is that your search engine results will be best in the country where your site is hosted. For example, a US hosted site will show better in the US then a UK hosted site, and vice versa.
So, ask yourself where most of your customers will come from, and host in that country.
