Hi,
Try focusing on a long term plan consisting of many small steps.
I specialize in event marketing strategies which can be applied to almost any business model. Every little instance or occasion in our lives is an event.
A teleconference meeting with your staff, is an event. A new purchase, is an event. Hearing sad news, is an event. Going out to watch a movie, is an event. All of these different events make up our life experiences.
You’ll notice how when we try to think back to our earliest memories, we just remember glimpses of different situations or feelings. These glimpses were once events (whether recurring or one-time) that stayed on with us as memories.
This observation has a few important sub-thoughts that you can take away and apply to your outlook on attracting new clients into your customer community:
1- If humans reacted to all the small & varied situations that occur in our daily-life just as meticulously as we planned for the larger-scale events, imagine how this shift in mind set would effect the happiness quotient in our lives. If cleaning the house was looked at like an event worthy of savoring.
2- We don’t have to be marketing big events all the time, we just need to figure out how to create traction around all the smaller level things that happen in our business day to day as well. This change in planning strategy can open up an entirely new window by which you can engage prospects into a conversation.
3- By anchoring all the small events in your business to mini product launches, post launches or pre-launch marketing campaigns you will be engaging prospects into your world. Inviting them to get to know you and your offerings.
4- If who you are is someone worth doing business with and your offerings represent value to your audience. All you need do is wash and rinse this event launch cycle over and over again. The number of new prospects will grow as the number of current prospects morph into becoming your paying customers.
5- The path to a successful business is 1000 baby steps. Not one big one.

It depends what your selling and how. If you are selling on-line then banner adds linked to relevant sites, as well as being in all the top search engines are the way. How well do you know your market? What are their demographics? Do some research and find where the main point of contact is for your product. Is it word of mouth? And how does your company image look? Does it need a bit of an update in regards to colours, style? Branding is everything these days. What about just plain old cold calling, or even getting onto the street with a flyer. Like I said it depends on what you are selling. |

Well it depends what kind of business you're running. Sometimes a certain type of advertisement doesn't work for a certain type of business. See an advertisiement agency.
Also a really important thing to have is a loyalty scheme. People will stick with you and reccomend you to others if you show loyalty to your customers. Also be as flexible as possible to suite your customers needs. |

It really depends on what type of business you have. In most cases you will need to put up some money in order to get your business well-known to the general public. Personally when I wanted new clients for my import/export business I picked up the phone-book and made many, many calls. Marketing on the internet is good ONLY IF you have an Internet business; the best places to market would be websites like yahoo.com or realtor.com or other popular websites that your target clients will like. |
