YES, whether your item sells or not you pay listing fees. Here are fees of ebay http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html
Insertion Fees - what you pay everytime you put an item up for sale, whether the item has a bid or not sell
Starting or Reserve Price = Insertion Fee
$0.01 - $0.99 = $0.20
$1.00 - $9.99 = $0.40
$10.00 - $24.99 = $0.60
$25.00 - $49.99 = $1.20
$50.00 - $199.99 = $2.40
$200.00 - $499.99 = $3.60
$500.00 or more = $4.80
If an item ends with a bid (or sells, you pay what is called Final Value fees)
If you use other features such as gallery photo, bold, underline, featured listing, etc. you also pay fees |

Yes it does. When you post something to sell, they tell you how much each thing you can choose fo create your ad costs. I sold some books and it cost about 53 cents each to list. None of them sold. But, if they did, EBay takes a small percentage of your sale, excluding your shipping charges. If you want to have EBay take a smaller percentage, lower the cost of the item and jack up your shipping...everyone does it. Hope this helps. |

It is free to sign up for an account, and it does cost a nominal fee (usually less than $4) to list your item. The cost of listing an item depends on the different kinds of options you choose. For example, a simple listing would cost less than a listing with a boldfaced title to make it more visible in searches. If you choose no "extras," I believe the fee is somewhere in the $2-4 range. |

It depends, there are lots of little $.10-$1.00 fees and there are plenty of other things too. It depends on how much you want your listing to stand out and how high the price is of your item.
If you sell a $30 item with no frills Im guessing it will cost you about $2-$3 in fees. |
