It may. It's a psychological thing, that If you see 2 Tv's looking similar and having the similar features, you buy the one with *slightly*(important, slightly, not too much) higher cost, because your conscience believes it IS better. I think there was this study(it was for foods, though) that people people were given various wines and told them their price and repeated the experiment without telling them the price, the results were completely reverse. When knowing the price, the most expensive one was the best and while repeating the experiment without knowing the price, the people picked the previously most hated wine. Strange, isn't it :)? |

a $50 box of chocolates might seem over priced but the quality is just amazing.
some thing like clothing;
paying more is for the brand or how big the label is.
and then they're food items like chips;
chips and chips no matter what if theyre house brand or Lays
they're the same. |

Definitely not. A Lamboughini costs over 100k but is lesser quality than a Lexus. Store brands cost less but are often made by the same manufacturer as the brands. |

Sadly, often not. This is particularly so in the clothing and sports shoe fields where many 'in brand of the moment' items are of fairly poor quality for the price paid. But then the buyer of these is not looking for quality but for an image. |

Not guaranteed. You are likely to find an item described as "light and economical" more expensive than something which is "flimsy and cheap" but they both mean the same. Which would you buy? In the end its all about marketing/advertising and persuading you, the customer, to pay as much as the market determines is the right price. |

Quality can never be guaranteed. Quality, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Some people wouldn't recognise quality if it bit them in the ars*. Paying more can represent crass stupidity. It just depends. |
