I used to work for Cadburys and it was all subliminal. Mind you, I used to get to work on a Double Decker, have a Picnic in my lunch hour, and take Time Out every twenty minutes to eat at the Snack Bar. In our coffee we would use real Dairy Milk, the cakes would be Fruit and Nut. This is when it was based in Bournville. I used to love the colour of the Caramel furniture in the office, and the pc's with the shiny Buttons.
However, I did try to Fudge with excuses and skive abit drinking Old Jamacian Rum, only so I wouldn't go back home at the end of it all and Flake out. My best work mates were Sam and Ella, they caused quite a stir lately, when they went public about conditions at the factory............... |

The debate as in pros & cons:
Pros: it is positive advertising and may work only when it is passively suggested...
Cons: may rub off the decision maker or sound cheap if not positioned appropriately to the target audience.
For example it is ok to be nice and let you know that it would be great and an important matter for me that this answer gets voted (BEST ANSWER preferably) rather than forcing you to do something (VOTE FOR BEST ANSWER).
Overall, you have to keep these in mind:
1. your audience
2. their attention span
3. where are you advertising
4. What medium...print, radio, TV or Internet (static or dynamic/video et) |

I think there was a program about it on TV recently, I missed it, but apparently by flashing a single frame of something between a program does subconsciously (VOTE ME FOR BEST ANSWER) register in people's brains. |

Yes, that's why in certain circumstances it is banned - The golden rule however is that it should be subtle.
There are a lot of urban myths about subliminal advertising - It's not that effective, however it can help...

Derren Brown does a lot of subliminal stuff, and from what I've seen on his shows it works for him - so quite possibly.
