Please explain to me about ebay!!!! I cant get my head around the postage bit of it lol! When you sell an item we have the initial outlay of postage costs........but don't we get it back of the buyer? HELP LOL.

the postage and packing costs that you state are payed by the person who buys the item and sends the amount that the item sells for and the postage costs together when the payment is made.
some people add other things to the postage cost like these charges:
insertion fee. the amount that you are charged for putting the item up for sale.
end of sale fee's. there is a % of the amount that the item sells for goes to ebay, and some people add this to the postage costs. |

yes you initally pay but its all sent by the buyer in one payment. i always add a few pence for materials but not alot. |

You state the postage cost when you list an item.
When the buyer pays you, he/she pays the closing price plus the postage. |

Yes the buyer pays for it. When you list an item, you put your postage cost in the listing, you have to account for size/weight, packaging etc, then when the buyer wins your item they pay for the item plus postage costs all at once. |

When you list an item you state the price of the item, you then give the price of the postage including packaging, then when your item sells the price of the item gets added to the Post and packing costs,which is the amount you get from the buyer. eBay are trying to bully sellers into giving unrealistic postage prices (get the item accurately weighed with packing at your local post office before listing) and remember time/packaging/petrol costs money, add these in to you postal charges, state,as I do, that if the bidder does not agree with P & P costs, then don't bid.
Usually the price for items is MUCH HIGHER in shops so they could always buy from the High Street and not save anything plus pay out for travelling/parking as well.
