Ebay related question - so confused!! Pls help!!?
Hey ppl!

I know I will probably sound like a right idiot but have recently set up an ebay account and bidded for an item and just read my emails which has informed me that I have won...

The problem is....

What do i do now?!

Just not really sure how this whole thing works - obviously I have to pay for the item in some way but does anyone know where you get all this info from? I'm so confused!!

Do i have to contact the person selling it to say I am sending a cheque or whatever? Coz think its from a company rather than a particular person...

Anyways if you know what I should do please answer! Sorry I am so clueless!! xxx

when you go on ebay, enter your username etc and go to your profile page. Click on summary at the side, and it will give a list of what you've bid on. Next to it should be a drop down menu, from this list select pay for item. I pay by payapal and it should take you to your paypal account. If your paying by cheque then you just post it, but be sure to send them a message, it's just polite

On the page that you found the item it will tell you what kind of payment the seller accepts. If you don't have a pay pal account set up then contact the seller and let them know your sending the payment in the mail.Usually money orders are accepted before personal checks are.

The seller will send you an invoice. You can then chose the method you will be paying by. Most sellers don't accept personal checks. The acceptable methods of payment will be listed in the auction

there are several options -
you can email them ( there will be a field for that on the item page)

the bottom of the eBay page ( i think) tells what manner of payment they accept)

paypal is the easy way to do this.
===========
but it will probably be easier than all that, almost all sellers send invoices.

The time to read how to pay was BEFORE you bid!!!! Sorry to yell, but you really should have!

On the auction page somewhere either in the description or at the bottom of the page (or both) will be the sellers TOS (terms of service) which will tell you what kind of payment they'll accept.

You must contact the seller and let them know how you intend to pay and give them your address within 3 days. It's not just polite, it's ebay's rule. If you pay with Pay Pal your address will be on their payment.

You can contact the seller by clicking Contact Seller from the auction page or if they sent you an invoice a link to their email will be there.

Some sellers, especially company's, have their own check out system, which should be explained on both the auction page and the invoice.

If you are mailing a money order or check the sellers address will be on the invoice. If you are paying with Pay Pal you can accesss it by clicking Pay Now on the auction page or on your My eBay page. But if your aren't registered with Pay Pal yet, be aware that it takes several days for the registration to go thru, so the time to do that was also before bidding.

Since you are new, you might not be aware of ebay's policy changes that will soon be taking effect. Please take a look at this video that explains them very well and join the 1000's of ebay buyers & sellers who will be boycotting ebay Feb 18th - 25th

you have to set up a paypal account and paypal will send you what you owe on the item and once you pay it the person will send it out.
