Toby G* | Feedback with ebay, Have you ever!!?? |
Have you ever brought something from ebay & noticed they don't leave feedback until you do!! so If you not happy with the item you have got to count your losses...you cant leave them negative feedback they deserve as they'll then leave you negative feedback, have you been in this position??
thanks for your time : ) Additional Details hi, well,, one time I won a car on ebay which was described as immaculate condition outside, interia could do with a clean but drives without fault!
I payed for a recovery truck to take me to pick it up & the car was a load of rubbish, the bonnet was full of filler & hand painted & drove like a banger!!!
I did not buy it as not descibed but still I lost alot of money as of the hire & fuel of the recovery truck. How could he put immaculate!!*+*??
Also... another time I've sold things & don't even get an email or payment. It just p**ses me off as these need to be left negative feedback so others can be weary if they decide to buy or sell from them, but like I say & most people know if you leave negative feedback they do!! even if your totally in the right!! |

If I am selling the item I leave feedback as soon as I receive payment. If I am buying something I leave feedback after I receive the item. |

I'd say for 90% of the stuff I've brought on ebay, the seller waits for me to leave feedback first. It is bang out of order because as a buyer I've fulfilled my end of the contract. They've received my money with no problems and should in turn leave positive feedback.
If there's a problem with the product they send it's got nothing to do with them taking my payment. Bloomin' cheek. |

All the time. I've avoided leaving feedback at least a dozen times in order to avoid retaliatory feedback.
I wish there were a way to avoid to, but I don't know how you would do so. |

Okay - if there is something wrong with your item you need to file the proper reports with eBay. There is Significantly Not As Described (SNAD) for starters. Why do you want to leave the negative?
I've seen some pretty ridiculous negs in my time on eBay. Seller didn't get me my item in 4 days.
Seller won't respond to my e-mails (left within 48 hours of auction end)
Seller ripped me off on shipping (when shipping was clearly stated in the auction and the bidder agreed to it, just to com back and complain later)
It doesn't fit me
I don't like the color
I thought it was bigger
Just one after the other of pure......ugh.
If your seller deserves a neg - give it to them. Go big or go home. But you have to realize that feedback Is Not Communication. And Should Not Be Treated As Such.
Feedback is the last step in the transaction process. You have 90 days to leave feedback.
And yes, sellers usually leave feedback after they've received it. It's an unverified opinion of how the transaction went. Plus - if they get an undeserved neg, retalitate with their own, and file to Mutually Withdraw - the buyer will usually agree. Comments stay, but the red donut goes away.
Try communicating with your seller before leaving the neg. Also, many sellers view neutrals as soft negs. They sometimes respond with a negative.
Again - it's not communication.
There are also the Detailed Seller Ratings now. You can leave them a positive with a polite thank you
and rate the stars as you feel they are deserved
but don't be mean about it
be level headed and fair |

1] feedback is optional !
2] feedback [if you chose to leave any] should be left at the END of the transaction. As a buyer you leave it when you have received your goods and are happy with them.
As a seller the contract ends when the buyer lets you know that they have received their goods, are happy with the transaction and do not require any further assistance; more often than not this is done via feedback. |

im a seller on ebay and i leave feedback after the buyer however, if they leave neutral i dont leave then negative, if they leave negative feedback without telling me their problem its bad communication and il leave them bad feedback.I buy loads on there too, and if im not happy il always contact them before leaving feedback as innocent mistakes do happen. But some sellers are honest decent people and some arnt.I had some newby ebayer on there give me bad feedback because he didnt recieve it the day after he paid, but the day after, i listed its as 1st class but ofcourse that isnt guarenteed next day delivery, so he got bad feedback first, which is fair enough.sellers generally value their feedback more than buyers so will go out there way to help, i think its right sellers leave feedback after the buyers. |

I think there is an element of that, however, there are many sellers who feel as I do, that feedback on buyers is largely pointless, they either pay or they don't - there isn't much room for quality assessment!!!!! Those that don't pay get chucked off via the unpaid item procedure so that's more effective than negative feedback from a buyer's point of view.... |

e-mail them if you are unhappy with the item. i once got a video tape that skipped i asked for my money back so as not to leave negative feedback. the guy e-mailed me back real quick!!! dont be afraid to let them know what you want and take controll!!! |

Well, for one thing, feedback is a voluntary thing, so neither the buyer nor the seller should force someone to leave feedback. It would be nice, but some people just don't leave feedback and some do.
However, if you're not happy with the item (not as described, etc), and communicating with the seller has become moot, then you can always file a dispute via the dispute console without fear of getting a negative. If the eBay admin people judge that your complaint is valid, then they can cancel out whatever negative feedback the erring seller may attempt to leave you. :) |

Don't be shy, if they deserve a negative then neg them. People will see that the ones you get back are retaliatory ones.
Wear your negs with pride !
I have 3....doesn't bother me. What bothers me is people who don't leave negs because they fear they will get one back. |
