Lamai | For ebayers - how do you not disclude items when searching? |
Hello ebayers. I have a question that I've been trying to find the answer for a while now. When searching on ebay how do you make sure items aren't included in your search... For example: I've been searching for shoes in a 6.5 and 7 so I'll type in Steve Madden (6.5, 7) which makes both sizes pop up. The problem is the "7" tags on 7.5 as well and I don't want that size to pop up. Is there a way to make sure the size I didn't type in pop up. I know why it pops up - because 7.5 includes the number 7 - but I'm wondering if there is a way that you can put in some combination of parenthesis or some other figure to disclude sizes.

Put a - (minus sign) in front of what you want to exclude so for your search you should put "-7.5" You should also put in the parenthesis so it excludes the phrase "7.5" |

There's a tool called the Men's Shoe Finder.
You can search for exactly the size you want.
I'd recommend looking for a 6.5 then looking for a size 7.
You can also chose other variables such as brand and color. |

go to advance search and type 7.5 in the exclude bar. this way the 7s should still pop up. hope this helps |

Add a minus like this -(7.5) in the search box at the end of your search words.
You can also try it like -7.5 see which one works best.

i think all you need to do is choose the "advanced search" option, it should be near the the search box - just type in keywords (or numbers) that shouldn't be included. |

I think that on Ebay, this is pretty hard to do because when you type in a search string, that string searches all the titles of all items on Ebay. Often times, what a seller will do is put not only 7, but 7.5 and other affiliated sizes or styles that don't relate to what you're searching for because this is the best way to have his/her item pop up in the search results: by including multiple descriptions. Sometimes, there is a check box on the left hand side of the screen which gives you options that you can check off to display the results that you want. Unfortunately, this is the best that you're going to get from Ebay. |
