Free Website Promotion ???

Can anyone help me with some free website promotion tools, to bring in hits. I have a website already but I need to bring in the hits since I'm barely bringing in any.. so could you please help

1. Use Keywords - these help the search engines to find you and send you visitors who are looking for what you have to offer. Submitting your URL to the four major search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN and Ask) will increase web site traffic from search engines directly. Find some at digital point.com

2. Submit to directories - Getting a listing is good because it provides a back link (or inbound link) to your site.
Just be a bit selective about which directories you choose to submit to. Some will actually hurt your search engine rankings. As a rough guide, submit only to directories with a Google page ranking of 3 or above. Try DMOZ
and Craigslist to start you off.

3. Submit articles to directories and article exchanges - articles help to establish you as an expert in your field. Goarticles.com is a good starting point.

4. Post on blogs and forums - have you any idea how many people search at Google and the other engines for, "Flower arranging blog" or "football blog" or some other kind of blog?

Incidentally, if you don't have your own blog associated with your site you are missing a very great opportunity here - so look into getting a blog started right away. If you can use RSS that will help too. Do some answering on Yahoo answers then go to forums that relate to your website's subject and post there including your URL. Some places let you do this and some don't.

5. Do some social bookmarking - Sites like Digg or Del.icio.us offer another great source of back links. You should submit your URL to them.

6. Build some reciprocal links - as long as you link to other non-competing sites in your own field of expertise, reciprocal links can both give you direct traffic that is highly targeted and yet more back links. Just look at your competitiors' sites and see if any will exchange links with you.

A word of caution here though. You should not link to "link farms". Search engines recognize sites that have little or no valuable content and will penalize your site if you are linking to them.

Most free sites don't give what you want because the coverage is too small and only over a limited time frame. Try this option:
By listing your website details on a search index like the following it gets spidered throughout the Internet better increasing your overall website search results in the search engines. People find your site better when they enter a search term.

Also this site has a permanent website listing option where you don't have to update on a regular basis like most other sites. Choose the right category and target your viewers.

The rest of the tricks and techniques you have to learn from internet experts.

Remember not all blog site can use all the earn money software. you might get ban when or if you are making money half way. It will result to lost of money eventually.

If you want to promote a website for free you better get ready and dig in for some hard work. If you want people to visit your website you must figure out what type of people are interested in your site. If for example you had a sports news site - you would want sports fans to come and visit. You would then need to visit a lot of sports forums and blogs and chat rooms and talk up your site. You would also need to identify key people who might be willing to help you promote. With our sports website example, you might want to invite a popular blogger to post a blog on your site. Therefore creating a partner who would also have an interest in generating traffic to your site. Bottom line is if you want to generate free traffic, figure out who you want to visit the site and then start thinking outside the box. Anything inside the box will probably cost money or has already been done by everybody else.
