What is the best way to promote my new travel website www.travelyourlifeaway.com?
I see travel certificates that are broker direct and seriously cheap compared to every site I can find.
I currently use Adwords but it gets expensive if you want any kind of results. I have posted craigslist ad's to get the website indexed. I have a Ebay account I post classified ad's with link to my site.
Where else should I advertise?

After an initial review of your opening webpage [not the splashpage] it is quite apparent that your were ill-advised on the initial design of your website. First of all, remove the Flash splashpage since it takes too long to download by Dial-Up Net users [even though you have a Skip link]. And why is your domain name placed in the <title> since it's not a major brand. Instead, place generic descriptive words in the <title> followed by a business locator, i.e., city, state, country in order to limit your sales. Or are you interested in selling to out of U.S. customers?
Here's a helpful article on how to design and place strategic SEO metatags.
Placement of Metatags:
A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.
The second metatag is the "Description" which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one's goods and services.
And the very last category - "Keywords" are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google's spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
directory.

if i where you... start a blog and write about each destination you have an offer for.. write about all the excitings things you can do and don't pitch.. then link yoour post to your sales page
see the challenge you have is travel is the most searched term on the internet and you will face some stiff competition for top SERp ratings in google.. do you keyword research using tools like https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and find less competitive keywords to optimize your site
finally... some of the prices you are offering are phenomenal... for some too good to be true... i would introduce an exit poll script on your site asking if they trust your site... not suggesting you are not legitimate but it will give you interesting feedback and then you may want to get certification
also submit your site to stumbleupon once you have done all the above.. i guarantee that your site will generate massive amounts of traffic cause your offerings are really cheap

AdWords doesn't have to be expensive. You just have to spend time on finding the keywords that people are searching for, making sure you're not wasting money on broad-matched keywords without negatives, and tying-in the keywords to the ads.
It's worth taking time to learn the system. |
