Yes they are starting to get on my nerves a little bit. However, I have to admit the "Tiny House" ad they did a couple of years ago was pretty hilarious.

most advertisments are bunk in my opinion, but it must be working for them because they keep using it in different formats.

I actually like the geko, he's cute. I'm sure they won't be able to use him much more because they are saturating the market, but I like him and his accent. Plus, they've just lowered their rates in New Jersey, and I'm a Geico insured so I've saved tons of money - what's not to like about that!
Good luck and God Bless.

One of the most successful advertising campaigns ever started way back in the 1970s, I think. It was for Charmin bathroom tissue. The ads featured a pervy grocery store employee named "Mr. Whipple" who just couldn't stop "squeezing the Charmin."
If you asked the average person on the street back then what they thought of those ads they would tell you they hated 'em. But those ads ran for 17 years. And everyone knew about 'em. Late night talk show hosts made jokes about Mr. Whipple - giving them more exposure. Just like we're talking about the gecko and caveman ads here. Mr. Whipple and his Charmin toilet tissue had buzz - which created more sales. There's no way a company spends good money on something like that if it not working and creating more revenue for the company.
We often forget the purpose of ads is not to entertain us - but to sell a product or service. To do that they have to be memorable. Personally, I think the AFLAC duck ads are irritating - but they must be working or the company that no one had ever heard of before is going wild since using the duck ads.
Here's the lesson: To be memorable, sometimes it helps to get under people's skin a little bit. If you are all nice and stuff all the time - it really doesn't jar your consciousness at all. It just all kind of floats by. Customer service? That's a whole different thing. Be nice.
I'm kinda sick of the gecko ads. But I'm still looking to see if they're going to have the cavemen do anything different or new on the ads. The sitcom? Honestly. Don't insult my intelligence. Wonder if GEICO is an advertiser on that show?
All the best,
