Kika | HELP! My new website get lots of visitors but nobody buys. What can I do? |
I published my website www.curvelissious.com about 4 months ago. I started to use PPC and got lots of visitors, over 4000 in a couple of weeks. The problem is that nobody buys anything. I've changed a few things like added some special offers, competition, lowered some prices after comparing with some competitors. I have also added the site to some search engines and directories.
I'm getting desperate what can I do?
Is there somewere I can have my website looked at and get some feedback of what could be wrong? |

One thing you can do is improve your ranking on the search engines so that you don't have to pay for each click. I know the PPC can get very pricey. You need qualified buyers clicking through, but, you don't need to be spending allot of money.
I use a tool that you can find at http://www.seogodfather.com and it helps optimize my site. Its been a few weeks and I'm starting to see results.

Change the font. It's too large and appears to shout.
Educate your customers. What makes your site different from similiar ones? One of your testimonials takes about proper fit and not having back and neck pains after buying a properly fitted item. Use this to your benefit. Think about how you would educate and help someone who came into your store. Spiders work better on text than pictures. Use a alt tag on the pictures.
The contest and free shipping aren't really attractors above the fold. You don;t really give them a reason to scroll down.
AS for prices, you can explain why your items cost more and the benefits to the customer (silk vs cotton, proper fit, etc.)then customers will pay a higher price. Otherwise they will only look at price.
Try to add better descriptors to each item. Educate the customer. Make them feel like you are looking out for their best interests.
You may also want to start a blog or newletter. You can capture names and e-mails and expand your mailing list.

I don't think that you need to lower your prices any. One cosmetic change you may want to think about is the font. Not necessarily the color of the font, but to make it look a little more professional. |

You may look at your log files and see where they are coming from. Change you PPC. Build and check your keyword list. Also, make sure your traffic comes from the actual PPC words you choose, not the "contextual". If you are budget limited, don't use contextual. Edit, negative key words to make sure you getting who you want to you site. Look for any fraud; repeated click from same IP address. WOW, I went to you site and your in a tough segment. You really need to fix the fonts, you need this site to look professional and elegent since your selling lingerie. I see you are using paypal to process transactions, but no where on your site does it say, "this site is secured", I would not feel comfortable buying lingerie from this site with my credit card.
I know you have the paypal logo, but its not like everybody knows what paypal is. I think the font used in your testimonials is great and should be used throughout. The color of the fonts dont flow together and need to be changed.
You have less than 10 seconds to have a first time viewer decide whether they would like to stay on your site or move on to the next. Make sure you can grasp there attention, and you cannot do this with large colorful fonts.
You may want to advertise on the adult sections of major classified ads like craigslist, backpage, and so on...you may have better success with that. |
