Has anybody noticed that when using a search engine..............?
that some of the innocent looking links take you to a p0rn site?
I am no prude but i find this offensive and totally un-necesssary.
Unfortunately this can happen, and is a common trick to lure people into signing up for porn sites.
There are two ways it can happen:
1) The porn site owners buy up existing domains that have expired, which were previously pointing to innocent websites. They then point the domain to the porn site. It can take a while for the new content to be found by the search engines.
2) The porn sites buy domains and put up innocent content. If the site is visited by the search engine spider, the owner can tell from the ip address, and will display the innocent content. However, if a normal visitor comes in they are redirected to the porn site.
Unfortunately its a very difficult thing to filter out, although you can manually report these sites to the search engine.

Oh how horrible! This hasn't happened to me yet (and I hope it never does) but then I haven't had the internet very long.

i have to agree
it should be illegal to do this , they should advertise there sights and if people want to go there then fine
but it should be illegal to be redirected there without asking for it
all the best

Yes, I used to notice it.
Upgrading to the Firefox Web Browser seems to have stopped it.
I think it can also be caused by Spyware on your PC, there is a program called "Spybot search and destroy" that might remove it.

I am not a prude either and it really offends me as well
But it is something that we cannot really do anything about so i am trying not to get so riled about it.
I think it is the website owners trying to drum up traffic to there site
Whenever this happens make sure you delete any cookies that the site would have put on your computer
