Has anyone ever actually recieved anything from those "free" computer offers?

I continually get offers in my email for $1000 gift cards from Target, Kmart, and etc. If I actually took advantage of these so called "free offers" I'd never have to work again. Plus I am an 'instant winner" nearly everytime I sign in to a site. How do these things continue to operate?

I haven't responded to any of these offers since I was new and ignorant to computers 6 years ago. I just don't see how they can continue to operate.

Well.... some people click on them and sometimes unwittingly get free spyware or malware downloaded into their pc. The vast majority of spam is sent out by innocent folks who have pc's infected with these spybots.

You have to plow through 1 million offers of products and you must buy $10,000.00 of those.

Then you get a free computer.

Never respond to anything free. It's not. They just want your email address so they can continually harass you with spam for the next 6 months.

lol, that is one of the best questions i've ever heard! i mean, everyone knows not to give those people your shipping info and everything for "2 free ipod nanos!!" but if you actually did, what would happen? i see what you mean ... and what if they do like steal your checking account or whatever and all that whatnot, then do the police do anything, or do they just say "everyone knows not to click those, you idiot. it's your problem, not ours."??? now what? buy an easy button?!?

They operate because you have to jump thru a bunch of hoops and pay a bunch of money for products from their sponsors. So, if I offer you a $50 free prize instant winner, but to claim it you have to spend $700 on other stuff, then it's isn't really free. It's a come on.

these are scams there is no such thing as a free ride there are always strings attach just read the fine prints on thoses offers
