I have bought tons of stuff from eBay (both used and new). I have bought clothes, power cables, cosmetics, stationary, a watch, and the list goes on!
I would say out of 200 purchases, I have had two duds.
The most important thing is checking the seller's feedback. If they have a lot of feedback and the majority is positive, I would say it's safe to buy. The eBay community is serious about feedback. So, a buyer most likely won't give positive, if it was not a good experience.
I just bought some cosmetics last wk that were less than half what I would pay in the salon!

Buy from a powerseller & business seller. When you view the item page next to their ID is powerseller and under the ID you shall see Account Type: Business. This means the seller makes their business off ebay. And chances are if you bought something which wasn't what you expected they would take a return and offer a full refund. |

You're not likely to get ripped off if you follow some basic rules:
Buy only from someone with good feedback (close to 100 percent).
Buy only from someone who's made MANY sales before.
Buy only from someone in your own country. |

Try craigslist.com and when you get to the site, just follow directions for what state and nearest city that you live in. If you find the phone that you are looking for, you might have to pick it up yourself but you wont have to pay stupid shipping charges and you get it sooner. |
