Alcohol is a recreational drug like cannabis or cocaine. Just because it's legal doesn't seem a legitimate reason to allow it to be advertised. There is a case for legalising some or all ...

Has anyone had success with Craigslist? I am frustrated?
I have been trying to get rid of a wedding dress and some nice western show clothes for a while. I need the money and the space. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I mean I am selling a $2000 dress and if someone will give me $30 cash it is theirs. Additional Details To Lynnie the dress is not ugly it is very pretty and the classic princess wedding dress. And even if it was there is plenty of material to have it made into something else! The train is over 10 feet long!
I have had great success with CL. My guess is you're not posting a pic. No one is going to come to your house to look at the dress when they haven't even a vague idea of what it looks like. If you're not posting a photo with your ad, you're crazy and wasting your time. It frustrates me to see people do this when it's absolutely free. I do not even look at a listing if there's no pic indicator next to the title.
My fiancee and I have seen wedding dresses on CL and have come to this conclusion if you are posting a pic:
-A wedding dress NEVER looks good hanging on a hanger. If you have no mannequin to display it (which you prob don't), put it on yourself or have someone that it fits put it on and take a picture of it excluding the head. If this is not an option and there is a pic on the web of a model wearing that same dress, then use that.
-Remind potential buyers that the dress can be altered to fit them.
-Make sure that if you use a picture that you took there are no dirty kids/dogs/husbands in the background amongst beercans/tv dinner trays/ wife beaters. This is a huge red flag.
-Make sure you have an e-mail to reply to, people hate only being given the option to call you.
Hope some of that helps, Post the link to it somehow and we can critique it!

You just have not found the right buyer. A girl has to:
1. Wear that size dress
2. Planning on getting married
3. Uses Craigslist
4. See your ad
5. Like the style of dress
$30 is a real bargain. Perhaps too good of a bargain. Some will wonder "what is wrong with it?" Others will not value it because it is too cheap.
I would try increasing the price. Include a nice photo, give all the details, sizes, etc.

i have never been successful with craigslist

Maybe the dress is ugly????

Are you advertising in the
right section?
The first line should grab
the attention of readers:
2,000 dollar wedding dress
then say what is only necessary.
I hope you find a buyer.

I've never had luck with craigslist because I can't manage to keep an ad on there. Every time I post something (a totally legit ad, by the way) it gets flagged and deleted. Whenever I go to their forum to ask why people will give answers like "I flagged it cause I was bored" and stuff like that.
I've never had luck selling anything online, anywhere. It seems like people want you to pretty much GIVE things to them (like a $2000 dress going for $30), regardless of how much they're worth or what they look like.
