I have a sneaking suspicion...New Orleans and the Gulf Coast region hasn't seen the last of Hurricane tragedy...supposedly, this season will be as bad if not worse than last year...perhaps New Orleans will just fall into the ocean...Trent Lott's house will become Ocean Front property...talk about appreciation...

Hi, I was in N.O. twice since the disaster. The 1st time we worked for 12 hrs a day 7 days a week for 2 months with little success. The scope of destruction that N.O. received is unparalleled to anything I've ever seen. I work for an engineering co. and we tried to so hard to get power and communications up as quickly as possible, with little effect. I went back a few weeks ago and some parts are still INACCESSIBLE. But many of us ride down and try to help as much as possible. It will take time. |

no they are in the process of cleaning it up but still there is alot of work to be done. but again alll of this tragedy could have been prevented if the government payed attention to the levees and fortified them to make them stronger. but no they payed attention to money and materialistic things instead of the gulf coast people. it is funny because we do so much for iraq and other countries but when it comes to saving our own country we do absoluty nothing.
i no that it is hard to rebuild a whole new city and gulf coast but if the government could help and fund the cost then it would go a lot more smoother. |

no, it still looks like a dump, after Hurricane Andrew in Miami it took 10 years to fix it good, and NO was much worse...I bet it takes 25 years to get it back |
