I have deliberately not bought products where the commercials show men as twits, show the product being used in ridiculous or illegal ways and other so called 'humorous' portrals. I think the executives that advertise this way must be on drugs. |

It's offensive sometimes the way things are advertised, so it's a good idea to never buy products from those companies that are ridiculous in their advertising. The worst is where companies are trying to be hip and cool to the youth market but show themselves up as sweaty 50 something execs totally out of touch with their target.
It seems to me that an increasing amount of advertisers/companies just see consumers as stupid sheep/cattle so we should resist the consumer urge, fight back by not buying. |

I held off on buying a PC for years because of that Microsoft commercial where people where holding up the signs that said "I AM".
Not that I'm a Bible thumper or anything... but wasn't that what God told Abraham his name was?

Definitely. A certain level of respect should be followed with marketing material. There is a video from an affiliate marketing guru "The Rich Jerk", where a female is branded with a hot iron. It doesn't matter how much money he can make you, he isn't the only one who is making millions online.

Absolutely, all the time. I have a special hatred for the products whose commercials try to get your attention by annoying you, like that song on the "Vonage" commercials. If I have to mute a commercial, I won't buy the product! |
