I've bought more than I sold, but I did well on some of the items I sold and not so well on others. I sold vintage dolls & toys and some odds and ends and my son's Pokemon collection. I was planning on listing some more things but with the new policy changes and the boycott coming up I've decided to wait and see what happens. I won't sell there again unless there's a change.
If you aren't aware of ebay's policies that will soon be taking effect, please take a look at this video that explains them very well and join the thousands of ebay buyers & sellers who will be boycotting ebay Feb 18th - 25th

I've had better luck with Craigslist. It is a more local based sales site, but there are 0 fees and it is so easy to use. |

some success and some failure too!! Spent a lot of money to put things on the web site, and made sure that the prices were low, only for people to bid and then never pay for the goods. Although we complained to Ebay, we still had to pay all the costs!! Certainly wouldn't do it again |

made over £1000 in the last month selling antiques , made over £20,000 last year.
It takes experience selling on ebay , you carn't just start up and expect the big money to roll in. |

We do ok with e-bay...Good clear pictures, good descriptions, fair and sensible postage all help the seller...
Its not an art but accuracy helps...
Give it a go.. |

i'm only 15 but i've made about £500 in total from just a couple of things. it's not as good as it used to be though. the best thing i sold was a toilet thing for a mobile home which sold for £150 but then the winning bidder didn't pay so i had to resell it and it sold for £120. you have to beware of foreign payers and alot of sellers dont accept nigerian bidders. |

The key is to write descriptive ads that create desire and competition for your products. I have seen some of the most boring ads... don't be one of them. Create excitement and you'll create income. Build your feedback before you start listing expensive items or you're just wasting alot of money in listing fees. The best things to sell are light, easy to ship merchandise like music, movies, books, jewelry, etc. Check out yard sales for deals and resell to those who want/need the items you buy. Don't get overly greedy... a 30-50% profit margin is decent especially if you sell $100 a day worth of merchandise. |

Sold quite a lot, more than I bought, even sold my car. It is easy and so far I have not run into any problems with bad payers. |
